Catherine D. Niebergall

Catherine enjoys family law because it requires unique problem-solving skills utilizing different areas of the law and a compassion for assisting clients in high conflict situations. As the daughter of a public school teacher, Catherine recognized the importance of resolving conflicts in the best interest of the child from an early age and seeks to efficiently solve family law related problems.

Catherine is a graduate of the University of California, San Diego and Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law. At UC San Diego, she earned her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, cum laude, and interned at a district office of a local Congressmember. After working for a year at UC San Diego in her hometown, Catherine moved to Dallas to earn her Juris Doctorate from SMU on a Dean’s Scholarship. In law school, Catherine served as an Articles Editor on the SMU Science and Technology Law Review, where her comment on idea submission law and copyright preemption was selected for publication. She interned in Family District Court in Dallas County, where she discovered a true passion for family law and a desire to assist others. Catherine also participated as a Student Attorney in the SMU Civil Clinic, which provides legal services to community members in the Dallas area.
