New research suggests marriage gets better with age
A new marriage study revealed the odds of getting divorced become slimmer once the union becomes long-term, an online report by NBC revealed on Thursday, February 13.
The study, which began in 1989, suggests couples who have been together for 15 years or longer know how to value each other and how to avoid trying to change one another. The study also found that wives play an important role in resolving conflicts, couples who use the word ‘we’ have a higher chance of settling conflicts, and that certain genetic make-up may play a significant role in maintaining a long-term union.
Despite these findings, a couple who has been married may find themselves no longer invested in their marriage and ready to move on.
