Can I go through my spouse's phone or computer?

Sometimes during a divorce or a pending lawsuit, one spouse thinks that the other spouse might be doing something wrong, and they want to take it upon themselves to do a little bit of investigating by searching through an email or searching through a phone. But that spouse is not allowed to look at their other spouse's phone or email without that spouse's consent. If they don't have that spouse's consent, it would be a breach of privacy. So if you do want to before you look through your spouse's phone or in their email, I suggest you always talk with an attorney to determine what the possible repercussions could be or possibly how the use of that evidence can be used in the future should you have to go to court.
